iPhone Princess Plus - World’s Most Expensive iPhone bearing Diamonds costs $176,400

Veils over the costliest iPhone have been lifted. Designed by Austrian jeweler and designer Peter Aloisson, the sleek ‘iPhone Princess Plus’ is studded with 318 diamonds, 17.75 carats of diamond and the music phone is also gleaming with 18k of gold around the rim.

This flashing beauty is priced at $176,400 USD, which makes it the priciest iPhone of all. One may think that since it is priced at such a high rate, there would be few or perhaps no buyers for it. But surprisingly a Russian businessman had already pre-ordered it in October 2007 and the handset has been delivered to him in January 2008.

The phone features yet remain untouched and the iPhone Princess Plus stands a class apart from the rest of the iPhones and also comes with a heavy price tag.

So the next time, when your loved one is planning to gift you a plain diamond bracelet or ring, you may want to re-consider demanding for the iPhone Princess Plus instead.

Samsung unveils the World’s slimmest 8MP Camera Cellphone Module

The meaning of a camera built into a cellphone has changed in the past few years. From a gadget that makes photos in VGA resolution you don’t want to show anybody because of the ugly quality, photography has become must-have multimedia feature in all new phones.

With Sony Ericsson’s K800 or at the latest with Nokia’s release of their 5 MP devices N95, N95 8GB and N82, mobile cameras have become so good that they are able to replace a standalone camera.

The different phone manufacturers have started a real “megapixel race” which has currently arrived at 5 MP. There is no end in sight; many enterprises are already working on 8 MP mobile camera modules

.

Also Samsung is among them: the Korean conglomerate has just unveiled the world’s slimmest 8MP CMOS which measures unbelievable 28mm x 15,3mm x 8,5mm. But with the exclusively for mobile phones designed module, Samsung shows not only their will to be one of the first to release a cellphone with a 8MP camera:

The new module, which is 10% more compact than current solutions, will have an ISO 1600 sensitivity, anti-shake capability, face detection technology, 1-cm macro and an automated shoot mode that is activated by silly, smiling faces.

Samsung 8MP Camera S60

Samsung is going to rock the mall with another Symbian S60 handset to add to their range of handsets that already run on the OS.
The mobile, so-&-so tagged as i8510 a slider, equipped with an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with a xenon flash. If that doesn’t impress you straight off, the camera will also be able to capture video at 120 fps. It also has a 2.8-inch QVGA display sporting 16 million colors, an optical mouse for navigation, TV out capabilities and should be available in two models – one with 16GB of internal memory and another with 8GB. It has dimensions of 106.5 x 53.9 x 16.9 mm and is shelled inside a metal casing.

The Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber Shot mobile

The star of the show as far as pictures are concerned, though, is the Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber Shot camera phone (left and top).

Featuring a huge 5 megapixel camera complete with autofocus, the C902 also offers sophisticated image and video stabilisation features, and a proper photo flash.

Oddly, the C902 doesn't come with GPS, yet it comes with better camera features and the ability to play 3D games.

It's difficult to tell, therefore, exactly which phone is the better phone, as they're both clearly aimed at different markets.

However, you can add an external GPS module to the C902 in the form of the HGE-100, which effectively equips the C902 with all of the features of the C702, plus better camera features, but with a more ungainly look.

Features
The C902 is definitely a good-looking handset. It’s sleek and slim, and the lines running along its edges make it even more eye-catching. The 'hidden' camera is a unique feature. All you need to do to activate or reveal the camera is slide up the upper portion of the handset (just above the display) and voila, out pops a 5MP camera with a flash and a sexy blue neon light. The secondary camera for video calling is located in the front and doesn’t need to be activated by sliding, it’ll work as is. That is if we ever get to use it for its primary feature.

The 2-inch display has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 256K colors. When the camera is activated, a set of touch-sensitive shortcuts (for camera options) appears all around the display. What I had a problem with is the keypad. Although it’s quite large, the keys are a bit hard and took some getting used to.

This 10.5mm thick handset has SE’s proprietary connector port for USB and a handsfree kit located on one side. Thankfully, like the Walkman series, the C902’s handsfree kit comes with a 3.5mm adapter. On the other side are the volume/zoom keys and the shutter release for the camera. It doesn’t have a hot swap slot for the M2 card (2GB provided) on the outside but you’ll find it under the rear panel. The rear panel is a bit tricky to open, so avoid fiddling with it unless necessary.

Performance
The C902 offers all the basic applications: a Calendar, a Task option, Notes, Timer Stopwatch, Calculator and a Code Memo feature. Like all SE handsets that are 3G capable and have a secondary camera, the C902 also has a dedicated application for video calling. The menus can also be customized – from a simple grid to rotating icons and single icon views – to make it look a bit more interactive.

The Sony Ericsson C702 Cyber Shot camera phone

First up is the Sony Ericsson C702 Cyber Shot camera phone.

This is the baby of the pair as far as taking pictures is concerned, offering only a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus, but no image stabilisation features.

However, it also comes with built-in aGPS for automatic geo-tagging of your photos, plus Wayfinder software to help you plan your routes and find points of interest, as well as built-in Google Maps for mobile that syncs with your GPS co-ordinates.

In other words, the C702 is a fully functional GPS phone that just happens to take fantastic photos as well.

You have to admit, it looks stunning as well. You can see that Sony Ericsson are really pitching the C702 as more than a camera phone, as it looks more camera than phone.

The Samsung SGH-G800

Whilst new phones such as the recently featured Motorola Rizr can never truly serve as a genuine substitute for thoroughbred digital cameras thanks to their somewhat poor resolution and mere digital zoom the up and coming Samsung G800 offers digital image capture of a quality that elevates the device from being a mere cursory snapper to the status of a capable digital camera in its own right.

Built around an optical senor rated at a credible five megapixels, the Samsung SGH-G800 3G slider cell phone comes complete with auto focus, a Xenon flash, digital image stabilisation, red eye reduction and even face recognition technology but what really sets this camera phone apart is the inclusion of x3 optical zoom (a standard zoom rate for most dedicated digital cameras of equivalent size and specification).

The resulting package being a truly capable digital camera housed within a cell phone which comes with a 2.4 inch QVGA 320 x 240 resolution 262K colour display, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and a MicroSD card slot offering storage expandability.

More than just a phone with image capture capabilities, the Samsung SGH-G800 3G slider cell phone is more like a digital camera with built in cell phone capabilities and is due for release in Europe in November for a price yet to be disclosed.

Unfortunately, if you live outside Europe we should advise that, at the time of writing, there are no details concerning a wider release.

Das Samsung SGH-G800 mit 5-Megapixel-Kamera, 3x optischen Zoom und Xenon-Flash ist jetzt aufgetaucht.

Das SGH-G800 wird ein Tri-Band GSM/EDGE Handy mit 3G HSDPA sein. Es bietet Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 und einen MicroSD-Slot. Das Display wird 2.4″ groß sein mit QVGA-Auflösung 320 × 240 Pixel und einem Slider-Gehäuse.
